Faith Forward is a South African Catholic catechesis workbook series compiled by Angela Louw. The work brings together her Catholic faith, academic background, teaching experience and years of parish catechesis.
Faith Forward was developed as a practical resource for catechists and young people, providing structured material for different ages and stages of faith development.
Angela Louw grew up in South Africa, where her Catholic faith was deeply nurtured. A devoted wife and mother of two, Angela first qualified as a chartered accountant before expanding her academic journey into higher education. She holds a master’s degree in philosophy, specializing in Catholic morality and ethics.
She has shared her passion for learning as a lecturer at St John Vianney Seminary in Pretoria and the University of Pretoria. Beyond the lecture hall, Angela has joyfully served as a catechist in her parish, guiding confirmation groups with energy and care.
Her unique blend of professional expertise, academic insight, and hands-on ministry with young people has sparked the creativity behind this inspiring and well-loved series of catechetical workbooks.

Angela’s Catholic faith, academic work and experience with young people inspired the development of the Faith Forward series.
The workbooks were created as practical, hands-on resources for catechists and the young people they accompany. The material presents the Catholic faith systematically, drawing from Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church while creating opportunities for discussion, faith-sharing, prayer and reflection.
Faith Forward currently consists of eleven sequential workbooks for Grades 1–11, covering learners from approximately 7 to 18 years old.
A separate Bridging Programme provides foundations for Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist for young people who have not completed the first phase of the series.
Each workbook provides structured material for a full catechetical year.
